We understand that there is a certain recipe that makes for the best possible experience and while that magical ingredient is often snow, we know that getting the most out of your accommodation provider is essential for a rad ski/board holiday! And how do we know you ask? We’re the crew that brought you The Phat House and people have been saying nice things about us for years. This is our latest venture and the recipe is much the same. We’re here for the people, the good times, the powder, the comfort and the good vibes… and we’re bloody excited!
THE PEOPLE
It may sound like a cliche but we’re here for you. We’re fun, friendly and accommodating people who are here to make sure you have the best holiday possible in Hakuba. We’re in love with these mountains and this lifestyle and we want you to be too; ultimately it’s our connection to nature and each other that makes this big ball spin. Rest assured we’ll impart our passion for this lifestyle upon you and you’ll feel like your part of our extended Phat Phamily; simply, that’s what we do!
THE GOOD TIMES
Part of having a good time is not having to think. A good accommodation provider is more than a bed and we certainly pride ourselves on being the best we can be; we’re dedicated to providing a great service at a really good price. From the minute you arrive into Hakuba we’ll be there to meet you, greet you and bring you back to The Phat Packers. We’ll feed you in the morning and put on fun events in the evening. Our staff are always on hand to answer any questions you may have or book any restaurants that you want to eat at. We’ll assist you book in your ski/board lessons and make sure you’re set-up with rental equipment if you need it. All-in-all nothing is too much to ask and we’re here to make sure you have a good time.
PICKUP/DROPOFF
Whether you are coming into Hakuba Train Station or Happo Bus Terminal we’ll pick you up and bring you to The Phat Packers so your arrival is as effortless as possible.
BREAKFAST
A day out on the slopes require fuel to keep you going all day. We provide a free continental breakfast for our guests to get your stay started the right way.
SHUTTLES
With Valley-wide shuttle services close-by you can access much of the valley very easily. We also provide our own shuttle services to other ski resorts around the Hakuba area in the evening.
RENTAL
Coming to Hakuba without your equipment? No stress we have a relationship with the best provider in the valley and can assist with your rental equipment.
LESSONS
Haven’t ski before or want to hone your skills? We can assist in the organisation of group or private lesson so you can maximise your time on the slopes.
THE POWDER
We came for the powder and never left. We understand that you’re here for the powder too. And what better way to access that famed Japanese powder than staying somewhere that gives you easiest (and fastest) access to the slopes. The Phat Packers is front and centre and couldn’t be located better in a true ski-in ski-out location that is only metres from the nearest lift. That means if you’re up bright and early you’ll be able to put the very first tracks in on what is one of Hakuba’s biggest (and best) resorts in the valley. With annual snowfall (at low elevation) of 11-odd-metres and easy access to the nearest slopes, you’ll be positioned perfectly for an amazing powder holiday here in Hakuba.
THE COMFORT
When you’re up and out early in the morning riding the powdery slopes of Tsugaike (or any other ski resort in the Hakuba Valley) you’ll need to ensure you get a good nights sleep. The rooms at The Phat Packers are warm and the beds very comfortable so you can be confident of sleeping like a baby. We have a range of different accomodation options available so whether you want something private or are on a budget and seek a shared room we have an option that will suit your style and/or wallet. Our double/twin rooms come with or without ensuite and feature large comfy beds. Our shared dorm style rooms feature their own toilets, plenty of space (for luggage and equipment) and comfortable bunk beds. Your comfort is important and we’ve got ya back!
& GOOD VIBES
We’re all about them good vibes… and when you’re on holiday why shouldn’t you enjoy yourself? We have multiple bars to enjoy apres with friends and several eateries to keep your bellies filled after an arduous day on the slopes (or in the bar) with a range of menu options to tantalise the most discerning of taste buds. We have free WiFi located throughout the building, a large drying room with a workbench for ski/board equipment, a pool table, a communal chill out room, a selection of shared and private rooms and a large shower block to boot. Whether you’re in for a quiet night or up for a few drinks we’re sure you’ll feel them good vibes.
Some people take more convincing than others but we’re confident that we’re nice people, and as nice people we will do our best to make sure you have a great time in what we believe to be heaven on earth. These here mountains are about as beautiful as they come and once you’ve enjoyed them once you know you’ll be hooked for life.
